Woodwards Gripe Water - A Posion to Infants!

Woodwards Gripe water has been trusted for decades by new mothers to calm down their new borns & have been given to infants from days they were born.

There were even images of Lord Krishna calming down infants with the woodwards Gripe Water in 1930's.

The image was drawn by Mahadev Dhurandhar’s paintings in 1930’s Woodwards Gripe water Calendar.

But the latest tweet from a doctor Dr Arun Babu Thirunavukkarasu suggests that it a POISON! He works in the Dept of Pediatrics, AIIMS. He mentions it his tweet that Gripe water contains a pesticide called Bronopol, which is highly toxic.

He says it contains alcohol and highly toxic Pesticides. Offering it to babies can cause serious health issues later in their life like GI toxicity, weight loss, death and increases cancer risk.

When this harmful infant product has been banned in other countries including USA, its still in use in India.

This tweet become popular and an alert message to parents. Many news channels like Thanthi TV, Sathiyam TV and IBC Tamil shared a newsclip about this tweet.
